Dr. M. N. Venugopal is a distinguished agricultural scientist and former Head of the Spice Division at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), with over four decades of expertise in spice research, crop diversification, and sustainable agriculture.
As the Principal Agricultural Advisor, he has been instrumental in providing scientific guidance to S. Muzaffar Hussain in developing AsmitA Organic Farms into a pioneering model of organic and natural farming. His expertise has enabled the successful introduction of high-value spice, horticultural, and agroforestry crops in Vidarbha, transforming a drought-prone landscape into a thriving, climate-resilient farming ecosystem. Through his continued mentorship, AsmitA Organic Farms has emerged as a recognised centre for agricultural innovation, farmer training, and sustainable farming excellence.

संगमनेर येथे महाराष्ट्राचे माजी महसूल व कृषी मंत्री, ज्येष्ठ नेते आणि आमचे मार्गदर्शक मा. श्री. बाळासाहेब थोरात साहेब यांची सदिच्छा भेट घेतली.
यावेळी अस्मिता ऑर्गेनिक फार्म येथे सेंद्रिय व नैसर्गिक शेतीच्या माध्यमातून विदर्भात यशस्वीपणे साकारलेल्या काजू लागवडीच्या प्रयोगाविषयी चर्चा झाली. अनेक वर्षांच्या संशोधन, सातत्यपूर्ण प्रयत्न आणि योग्य वाणांच्या निवडीमुळे विदर्भाच्या मातीत काजू उत्पादनाचा हा यशस्वी प्रयोग शक्य झाला.
या पहिल्या काजू उत्पादनाची भेट त्यांना देत, शेतकऱ्यांना शेतीचे नवे पर्याय उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी आणि शाश्वत शेतीला अधिक चालना देण्यासाठी आमचे प्रयत्न यापुढेही अविरत सुरू राहतील.
राज्यस्तरीय राजीव गांधी कृषी रत्न पुरस्कार (२०२२–२०२३)
सेंद्रिय व नैसर्गिक शेती क्षेत्रातील उल्लेखनीय कार्याबद्दल प्रतिष्ठित राज्यस्तरीय राजीव गांधी कृषी रत्न पुरस्कार (२०२२–२०२३) प्रदान करून गौरविण्यात आले.
आणि ‘कृषी जागरण’ यांच्या वतीने आयोजित ‘क्रॉप आयकॉन अवॉर्ड 2026’ अंतर्गत ‘Agristartup of the Year 2026 (National)’ या प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्काराने मला आज दिल्ली येथे सन्मानित करण्यात आले.
हा सन्मान डॉ. तरुण श्रीधर (माजी सचिव, मत्स्य, पशुसंवर्धन व दुग्धव्यवसाय मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार), डॉ. प्रवीण मलिक (मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी, Agrinnovate India Limited), डॉ. अजय रांका (अध्यक्ष व व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक, Zydex Group) आणि एम. सी. डॉमिनिक (संस्थापक व मुख्य संपादक, कृषी जागरण आणि Agricultural World) यांच्या हस्ते प्रदान करण्यात आला.

विदर्भातील पारंपरिक शेतीपद्धतींपलीकडे जाऊन सेंद्रीय, नैसर्गिक व मसाला शेतीवर आधारित यशस्वी प्रयोगांद्वारे शेतकऱ्यांच्या अर्थकारणात बदल घडवून आणणाऱ्या दीर्घकालीन योगदानाची दखल घेत, ‘Emerging Nagpur’ उपक्रमांतर्गत NDTV मराठीकडून कृषी क्षेत्रात शाश्वत व प्रयोगशील शेतीची नवी दिशा देणारे प्रयोगशील शेतकरी म्हणून माझा विशेष सन्मान करण्यात आला. हा सन्मान वित्त, नियोजन, कृषी, विधी व न्याय राज्यमंत्री मा. श्री. ॲड. आशिष जयस्वाल यांच्या हस्ते प्रदान करण्यात आला.
बेंडशिल येथे सेंद्रिय कृषीभूषण श्री. राजेंद्र भट जी यांच्या ‘निसर्ग मित्र फार्म’ला सदिच्छा भेट देण्याचा योग आला.
यावेळी सेंद्रिय व नैसर्गिक शेती, शाश्वत कृषी पद्धती, जलसंधारण तसेच ग्रामीण विकासाच्या विविध विषयांवर सखोल चर्चा झाली. नैसर्गिक आणि सेंद्रिय शेती क्षेत्रात अनेक दशकांचा अनुभव असलेल्या राजेंद्र भट जी यांनी शेतीतील बदलते प्रवाह, मातीचे आरोग्य जपण्याचे महत्त्व, रासायनिकमुक्त शेतीचे फायदे तसेच शेतकऱ्यांनी आत्मनिर्भर आणि शाश्वत शेतीकडे वाटचाल करण्यासाठी आवश्यक मार्गदर्शन केले.
शेती क्षेत्रातील त्यांचा प्रदीर्घ अनुभव, अभ्यासपूर्ण दृष्टीकोन आणि शेतकरीहिताच्या कार्याचा लाभ घेण्याची संधी मिळाली. सेंद्रिय शेतीचा प्रसार, पर्यावरण संवर्धन आणि शेतकरी सक्षमीकरणासाठी त्यांनी केलेले योगदान प्रेरणादायी आहे.
कृषी क्षेत्रात नवकल्पना, पर्यावरणपूरक शेती आणि शेतकरी सक्षमीकरणासाठी कार्यरत असलेल्या अशा व्यक्तिमत्त्वांची भेट ही नेहमीच पर्वणी ठरते.

AIONF is an initiative of the AsmitA Group, committed to education, health, and sustainability.
This programme is open to farmers, aspiring farmers, agriculture students, entrepreneurs, home gardeners, and anyone interested in sustainable farming. No prior farming experience is required.
No. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced farmer, this programme is designed to provide practical knowledge that can be easily understood and implemented.
The programme runs for 6 months, with one practical session held every month. Each session is conducted on a designated Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at AsmitA Organic Farms, Ramtek.

The programme follows a hands-on learning approach, combining classroom sessions with live demonstrations, field visits, practical activities, and interactive discussions at a working organic farm.
Yes. Participants who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Certificate in Organic & Natural Farming by the AsmitA Institute of Organic & Natural Farming (AIONF).
The Founding Batch is offered completely FREE of cost, as part of the AsmitA Health & Education Foundation’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and farmer education.
Participants are advised to bring a notebook, pen, water bottle, comfortable clothing, cap or hat, and closed-toe footwear suitable for field activities.
Unlike conventional training programmes, AIONF offers real-world learning at an NPOP Certified Organic Farm, where participants gain first-hand experience through live demonstrations and direct interaction with experienced practitioners.
